We are proud to announce that SkinBeautiful is one of the first Medispas in Ontario to offer the new Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ as part of our wide range of services.

Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ is the latest generation of hyaluronic acid (HA) volumisers. Multiple scientific studies demonstrate how the Juvéderm® range of products differs from other facial enhancement options.

Long-lasting Results

In a clinical study of 102 patients with facial volume loss, each patient received one treatment with Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™. Six to 18 months after the treatment, an assessment found almost 65% of patients’ facial volume was rated as being ‘very much improved’. And, more than seven out of 10 patients described their facial volume as being ‘very good’ during 6 to 18 months following the treatment.

Smooth, Consistent Gel for Ease of Treatment

Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ was developed to be smoother than other hyaluronic acid (HA) volumisers, making it easier to inject during treatment and resulting in a smooth, natural look and feel. Take a look . . . you can see the difference.

Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ vs Wrinkle Fillers

Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ was specifically developed to restore lost facial volume (e.g. in the cheeks, cheekbones, and chin). While wrinkle fillers like Juvéderm® ULTRA offer excellent results when applied to fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth, nose, and eyes, Juvéderm 4 and Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ is often better suited to larger scale facial volumising. With our morphing tool, you can see for yourself the many benefits offered by both Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ and Juvéderm® ULTRA.  Try it.

Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ vs Other Facial Volumisers

Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ is associated with a lower incidence of adverse events and allergic reactions than other facial volumisers. So medical aesthetic physicians can treat their patients with confidence.

The table below compares the incidence of adverse events including nodules (bumps) and granulomas (bumps or lesions with inflammation); swelling and bruising; and product migration (moving to a place other than the treatment site).

Adverse events demonstrated in clinical studies with competitors to Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™:

Effectiveness of Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™

A recent prospective study of Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™, undertaken by Klaus Hoffmann, MD, and the Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ Study Investigators Group, Department of Dermatology, Ruhr University, Bochum, Germany, assessed the current aesthetic use of Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™. The study demonstrated treatment with Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ to be highly effective.

There are two recognised ways of measuring the effectiveness of products on their ability to improved facial appearance and a reduction of lines and wrinkles. The first is the Ascher Scale, which measures volume loss. The second is the Global Aesthetic Improvement Score (GAIS), which measures improvement in volume and appearance.

When assessed in a clinical trial using these 2 recognised measures, Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ showed a significant decline in scores on the Ascher Scale, indicating a significant improvement in facial volume. It also showed a significant improvement in volume and appearance in the GAIS scale.

Physicians rated 89% of patients as very much improved or much improved after treatment with Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™; not a single patient was rated as having no change or as worsening. And, that’s not all—76% of patient participants rated themselves as very much improved or much improved.

Patient Satisfaction With Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™

The same prospective study demonstrated a high level of satisfaction with the results of treatment with Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™. Nearly of the all study participants who underwent treatment with Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ would recommend treatment to a friend. Additionally, most would be very or quite likely to return for treatment.

Hi! Just wondering if you can use Voluma around under the eyes in the tear trough area? Thanks Tracie

Great Question Tracie! No, you would not put Voluma in the tear trough area. Voluma is meant for the cheek and chin areas as it adds in quite a lot of volume and is placed deeply into the tissue. The tear trough is a very thin, fine skin and not a thick enough tissue. Thanks for checking out our blog! Joanne

If you have fine lines on your chin, but do not want extra volume in your chin, can you place the Juvederm closer to the top of the skin?

Great Question! First we have to keep in mind that fine lines and wrinkles on the face are most often a result of a loss of volume in the surrounding tissue. You are right however, that in an area such as the chin in women you may not want to add in too much volume. Juvederm and other products are fillers that contain different size molecules for controlling the amount of volume we add into an area. For example, in areas where we need a smaller molecule we would use Juvederm Refine. In areas where we would like more volume i.e. the cheeks, we would use Juvederm Ultra XC, Ultra Plus XC or Voluma
