Who benefits from Microdermabrasion?
- Posted by: Diane Dosaj on October 31st, 2011.
Microdermabrasion is not for everyone. In fact it can do more harm than good for skin that is thin, dry and highly vascular. Someone with rosasea should not have microdermabrasion as it can exacerbate the conditon.
Microberm, however is good for skin that is oily, or with acne scarring, fine lines, black/whiteheads and age spots. It is a nonchemical non invasive treatment that leaves the skin feeling fresh and glowing by removing the outer layer of dry dead skin cells. A series of 6 treatments spaced every two weeks apart is usually recommended. Then monthly or bimonthly through the course of a year.
Realistically it will not remove deep wrinkles or dark pigmentation. In these situations it's best to consult with a doctor to determine your best treatment options.
Should Aesthetic Medicine Be Limited To Women? Of course not!!

Dr. Dosaj Before
Dr. Dosaj After
Taking care of your skin, enhancing your image is an individual approach that is an integral part of feeling and looking your best. These days, men, just like women, are subjected to social pressures and awareness regarding their appearance.
Under the normal effects of aging and social habits, the climate, pollution, stress...the skin ages. Gradual damage allows fine lines, wrinkles, and folds to appear. In men, wrinkles appear later than in women, but under the effects of fatigue, stress and the passage of time, they are deeper, hollowing out genuine furrows.
In as little as a lunch break, an appointment with Dr. Dosaj can make it possible to correct folds, lines and contours, and replace lost volume. Reflect your true nature. Treatment gives stubtle changes yet great results!

A Natural Approach To Skin Imperfections!!!!

Three weeks ago I had a Sephyl treatment( the Vampire Lift as seen on " The Doctors") to help correct the fine cross hatching lines around my eyes. Even though I work in the medispa beauty business I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Well here is what happened. I had blood drawn from my arm much like what they do at any lab when they need to perform tests. The tourniquet was placed around my upper arm and the needle was poked into the crook of my elbow to take out a small amount of blood. All relatively painless. My blood was put into a centrifuge and spun down so that the serum separated from the red blood cells. This was then put into a syringe and then injected into the lines around my eyes. They also injected my naso labial folds and a few lines I have on my neck. I did get some bruising around one eye and one giant bruise on my neck. It looked qute funny. But I applied Alyria Anti-Dark Circle Eye Cream on those areas every 2-3 hours and the bruises disappeared in a couple of days. There is a difference in the wrinkles around my eyes and neck folds already with the skin looking firmer and smoother and I anticipate that those areas will continue to improve over the next few months. This would be a great treatment for anyone concerned about using synthetic substances. Its your own blood and once injected growth factors are released to trigger the production of new cells and collagen. How great is that!!!
What I like about this treatment is that the end result looks natural and you look refreshed. In other words you don't look "Done"!

Latisse Is Here!
- Posted by: Joanne Greene on June 27th, 2011.
There’s been a growing interest in this product ever since it was introduced. And it’s no wonder. LATISSE® is the first and only FDA-approved prescription treatment for inadequate or not enough eyelashes, growing them longer, fuller and darker.
Discover the LATISSE difference.
LATISSE® solution is an actual growth treatment. In fact, it’s the only Health Canada Approved treatment clinically proven to grow lashes. And it’s the only lash growth product of its kind available by prescription. So you’ll need to talk to your doctor to see if it’s right for you.
LATISSE grows lashes longer, fuller and darker.
LATISSE® solution is a once-a-day treatment you apply topically to the base of your upper eyelashes, as instructed by your doctor. Then, gradually, the results come in. You may start to see more length in as little as 4 weeks and you should achieve full growth in 16 weeks. It’s not an illusion of growth. It’s your own eyelashes — only better.
How LATISSE works.
LATISSE® makes lash growth possible because of its active ingredient: bimatoprost. Although the precise mechanism of action is unknown, LATISSE® is believed to affect the growth (anagen) phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways: first, it increases the length of this phase, and second, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase.
The history behind LATISSE.
Although LATISSE® is a treatment for inadequate or not enough eyelashes, it was developed through years of research by Allergan, a pharmaceutical leader with expertise in eye care products.
